HEE NW Education Transformation Conference Summer 2022 - Enhancing Multidisciplinary Team Working in Patient Care - Recording

As part of the HEE NW summer 2022 Education Transformation Conference, the team from Clinical and Biomedical Sciences, University of Bolton,shared their innovative practice to supplement clinical placements. Theirclinical simulations involved students from three health care disciplines to help them deliver effective patient care, promote strong communication, and multidisciplinary team- working. Several simulated placement events was delivered by a number of healthcare professionals to help give an in-depth understanding of each other’s role in treating patients from pre hospital care, in-patient care, right through to discharge home. Real life simulation was delivered using service users, simulated conditions and moulage, in a controlled safe environment to reflect a number of care scenarios. Students from a paramedic, physiotherapy and physician associate background participated and followed several patient journeys from admission to discharge which promoted continuity of patient care, importance of communication and handover, and management of patient conditions across different care settings.
