For years, mounting scientific evidence has been shouting about the significant influence of dietary habits on the risk of developing cardiovascular disease. So why is it not being taken seriously enough?
In this module we will look closely at the magnitude of this effect and the importance of raising awareness around effective lifestyle changes that can prevent serious illness.
- Explain the difference between modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors
- Recognise the impact of dietary manipulation on modifiable risk factors
- Recognise the magnitude of dietary manipulation for cardiovascular disease risk and dyslipidaemias
- Refer to specific scientific and health bodies for supporting evidence
