Schizophrenia short film (video)
Grade 10 FTVNM Suspense Film by Ani Parry, Natasha Pravidur, and Erin Vohland 2018. This film is a dramatized psychological representation that explores the range of emotions and everyday challenges of a teenage girl living with a mental illness. The purpose of the film is to explore challenges associated with schizophrenia through a dramatized and suspenseful lens, as well as open the eyes of a mature audience of the invisible suffering of those affected. In this case, un-managed schizophrenia is troubling the life of teenager Avery who experiences hallucinations of a demonic being. Her schizophrenic episodes are portrayed through the technical features of both still and rapid camera movements, dark and cold colour grading, and suspenseful soundtracks and voice overs, accomplishing the unsettling feel of this psychological thriller.
