Discovering biological information from mass spectrometry-based proteomics
Mass spectrometry-based proteomics has revolutionised the analysis of proteins by enabling quantitative analysis of thousands of proteins and their properties, including post-translational modification (PTM). The resulting datasets are rich, multidimensional, and comprehensive.
The webinar will cover basics of peptide and PTM identification by mass spectrometry, strategies for quantitation, and introduce tools for the analysis of proteomic datasets.
Who is this course for?
This webinar is suitable forany researcher in life scienceswith an interest in proteomics studies. No prior knowledge of bioinformatics is required, but an undergraduate level knowledge of biology would be useful.
Outcomes
By the end of the webinar you will be able to:
- Describe the basics of peptide identification by mass spectrometry
- Explain the principles of protein/PTM quantitation, e.g. isobaric labels (TMT), DDA, DIA
- Identify the tools available for PTM and sequence logo analysis
