The right of access, commonly referred to as subject access, gives individuals the right to obtain a copy of their personal data from you under the Data Protection Act 2018.

This training module introduces the legalities and practicalities of requests for information. It also covers the Access to Health Records Act 1990 (requests for deceased information) and Access to Medical Reports 1988 (requests from insurance companies).

This training is for anyone who processes Subject Access Requests in General Practice who subscribe to the ICB GP DPO Service, and takes approximately 45 minutes to complete.

An assessment is also available for you to test your knowledge. A certificate will be issued following completion of the assessment.
