NHS England Safe Learning Environment Charter

Safe Learning Environment Charter Maturity Matrix Self-assessment tool

Not yet rated

This practical tool allows teams to assess the progress of their transformation programme against the priorities within the Safe Learning Environment Charter. It will identify areas where teams are performing well, and those which require more attention.

The maturity matrix can also be utilised as a complimentary tool when collating evidence for elements of the annual self-assessment process. The tool can be a place to capture actions which have been implemented to improve the quality of education and training being delivered in the clinical learning environment.

It may be helpful to utilise the matrix across different wards, clinical areas and / or departments to understand how each is performing, as well as using the tool to identify where you want to be in 3, 6 or 12 months' time.
