Exploring genotype-phenotype data using the GWAS Catalog

Not yet rated

The GWAS Catalog is the primaryresource of genotype-phenotype associations identified through genome-wide association studies. GWAS Catalog data are publicly availablein a consistent, searchable, and visualisable format, which is easilyintegrated with other resources. Uses for the data include prioritising candidate loci, exploring disease mechanisms, predicting risk of disease, identifying new drug targets, gathering statistics on traits or populations of interest, and downloading full summary data for use in downstream analyses.

Thiswebinarwill include abrief introduction to theGWAS Catalog and a demonstration of our web-based search interface, focusing on the most common use cases.

Who is this course for?

This webinar is suitable for researchers, clinicians and bioinformaticians working in the field of genomics.

Outcomes

By the end of the webinar you will be able to:

  • Describe the type and scope ofdata contained in the GWAS Catalog
  • Perform commonly used queries to search and access GWASCatalog data in the web interface
