Introduction to Basic Radiation Protection
Certificate available: complete this course to be awarded a certificate
This session aims to ensure the safety of staff within the hospital by providing them with information on the risks of exposure to ionising radiation, the importance of following the safety procedures that are in place and the precautions each person can take to minimise the risk. It is aimed at any staff who regularly work in areas where ionising radiation is used, and who would not otherwise receive any formal training, e.g. ward nurses, theatre staff, etc. This session was reviewed by Mark Long and Mark Knight and updated in November 2020. The session contains basic radiation protection material relevant to Regulation 15 of the Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017.
