VIRTUAL / VIDEO INTERVIEWS

Not yet rated

The option to conduct interviews remotely is now common practice for many hiring organisations and search firms.
They are often used when there is a large number of candidates to interview, or if travel to an interview by either party is not possible. However, they are rarely used for a “final panel interview” to senior roles unless in exceptional circumstances.
While COVID accelerated the use of virtual interaction including interviews it can still be a daunting process. For many people, their work continues to be delivered in person, and they may have more limited experience of virtual working.
While virtual interviews can be more effective, regardless of software or app used, this method has limitations and it can be harder to get a real feel for how you interact, both from an organisation and candidate perspective.
Participating in a virtual interview is not quite as easy as it may appear. Here are some suggestions and considerations when having a virtual/video interview.
