This presentation related to the London Safeguarding Team VAWG conference 2024 whichfocusedon the intersectionality between violence against women & girls and health inequalities, including health inclusion groups; and the aimed to: equip professionals at all levels with tips on how to improve their practice and strategiesregardinghow health inequalitiesimpactall aspects of violence against women and girls.
Objectives were to:
- Raise awareness abouthow health inequalities impact on all aspects of violence againstandwomen and girls, and their experiences of health services
- Increase awareness about legal duties on health sectorregardinghealth inequalities
- Encourage professional curiosity regarding VAWG and health inequalities
- Encourage reflectionregardinghow to embed learning into policies,trainingand practice
- Increase knowledgeregardingexistingsupport services and referral processes within London
