Certificate available: complete this course to be awarded a certificate
What will you learn?
When you have completed this module, you should have a clear understanding of:
- The national expectations of ICB Chairs to bring leadership to their systems and considerations for them in ensuring there is confidence in the integrity and inclusiveness of the ICB’s decision-making arrangements.
- The importance of the ICB Chair’s leadership role in creating the culture and establishing the governance of the ICB and embedding effective management of conflicts of interest into that– recognising the ambitions, flexibilities and potential tensions of bringing ICS partners into ICB governance – including specific responsibilities relating to appointments and appraisals.
- The role of the ICB Chair, together with the Chief Executive, in guiding the board in ensuring that the ICB is meeting its specific statutory duties on conflicts of interest and applying the principles for managing conflict of interest.
A series of scenarios and questions are presented to support this, with an assessment to check understanding.
