These modules will provide high quality training for implementing best practice consultations and support for Osteoarthritis.

Course format and aims:
This training programme will equip Pharmacists and pharmacy staff to support the implementation of the NICE guidelines on core treatments for Osteoarthritis, including:

  • A clear understanding of Osteoarthritis
  • Exploring patients’ health beliefs and the impact of Osteoarthritis on a patient’s life
  • Giving patients a clear explanation of Osteoarthritis
  • Advising on pain relief, exercise and weight management and providing good written information and other resources
  • Supporting self-management through goal-setting and review
