Practical tips and reflections for supporting Black families through an antiracist lens
We are delighted to have partnered with Black Mothers Matter to bring you two videos exploring the mental health of parents racialised as Black on a neonatal unit.
Black Mothers Matter deliver a range of resources and services that provide accurate, relevant, safer information and support to their community of Black & Mixed Black women and birthers. They also work with professionals in the NHS and other organisations - so that staff are more knowledgeable and better equipped to support all types of Black people giving birth.
In this second video, the Black Mothers Matter team explain more about the concept of cultural safety and also provide some practical reflection prompts and sentence stems to support improved communication on the neonatal unit.
Our thanks to Sonah and Caprice.
