Midazolam and Flumazenil

Have a copy of the NWAS PGD Midazolam Injection Version 6.1 and the NWAS PGD Flumazenil Injection Version 6.0. and have read them, had the opportunity to ask questions to a senior colleague and understand them.
Are registered with HCPC as a Paramedic, have a current contract of employment within NWAS as a Paramedic and be one of the groups of paramedics eligible to work under the PGD.
Successfully completed the General PGD training and assessment (an e-learning package entitled General PGD Knowledge – Version 2).
Must have emergency airway skills and maintain competence and revalidation.
Have clinical competence to undertake clinical assessment of the patient leading to diagnosis of the conditions listed.
Must have clinical competence for working under this PGD, including IV, IO, IM and S/C administration of midazolam.
Must have clinical competence to recognise and manage unintended but expected side effects e.g. apnoea, respiratory depression and cardiac arrest.
Must have completed NWAS annual safeguarding level 3 training.
Must have completed training on de-escalation methods, calling for assistance and the restrictive interventions policy and procedure.
Must have knowledge of the capacity to consent policy, the NWAS policy and guidance for transporting mental health patients and JRCALC Acute Behavioural Disturbance (ABD) guideline.
