A number of myths exist regarding who should have therapeutic involvement with patients who may have gender identity issues as part of their clinical presentation.
  • This in turn may prevent health professionals in primary and secondary care settings care settings from having the confidence to engage fully with these patients, which can lead to reduced access to other services.
  • The awareness course aims to challenge these myths, to promote inclusiveness and increased involvement, to help clinicians correct the imbalance of access to services.
