The aim of this module is to explore the important link between HIV-related stigma and public health outcomes, such as quality of care.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the module, you will be able to:
- Be better informed about HIV.
- Define what we mean by stigma and discrimination.
- Outline the role that stigma and discrimination plays and the effect this has on patients in healthcare settings.
- Describe, in practical terms, how healthcare providers can reduce HIV-related stigma and discrimination in their day-to-day work.
