Welcome to the Blood Transfusion e-Learning and Assessment module for Health Care Assistants, Associate Practitioners, Trainee Associate Practitioners, Student Nurses & Porters.

If you have not previously:

  • attended a transfusion competency assessment session at KGH (and given a BloodTrack barcode)
  • not used your barcode in the past year
  • competency has expired by over 1 year (check your ESR for expiry date)

you'll also need to attend a face-to-face competency assessment session with the Transfusion Practitioners. This must be done within 2 months of completing this e-Learning.

If you have any queries, or need to book onto a face-to-face competency assessment session please contact the Transfusion Team. Email kgh-tr.transfusion.team@nhs.net or phone 2978. This ESR module must be completed before booking.

If you only need to update your competencies your ESR records and BloodTrack barcode will be updated by the Transfusion Team upon successful completion of this ESR module. Please allow up to 1 week for this to appear on your records.
