Blood Transfusion Assessment - Nurse/Midwife/ODP/Paramedic - KGH Mandatory
Welcome to the Blood Transfusion e-Learning and Assessment module for
Nurses, ODPs, Midwives, Paramedics and other qualified members of staff.
If you have not previously
- completed transfusion training at KGH
- are more than 1 year out of date (check your ESR for expiry date)
- have not practised tranfusion within the past year
- been involved in a DATIX
then you will also need to attend a face to face competency assessment session. See the Transfusion resource page on K-Net for dates and contact the Transfusion Team to book kgh-tr.transfusion.team@nhs.net. You must complete this ESR module before booking your competency assessment. The e-Learning must have been completed within 2 months of your competency assessment.
As a registered practitioner you are accountable for maintaining your own knowledge/competence. Transfusion guidelines and processes are constantly evolving so it is important that you take note of the learning sections of this module. All aspects will also be covered in the face-to-face session.
You are required to achive 100% in the final assessment.
If you do not feel competent in transfusion, and need further information, please see the policies and guidelines on K-Net and contact the Transfusion Practitioners with any questions. kgh-tr.transfusion.team@nhs.net
