Narrowing health inequalities in severe mental illness (SMI)

People with severe mental illness have psychological problems that may severely impact on their ability to engage in functional and occupational activities. SMI include schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and other psychoses. This session will look at the importance of health inequalities in clinical practice. It will also look at the causes of healthcare inequalities in access, experience or outcomes among patients with mental health issues.
