Aim:
- The aim of this e-Learning module is to provide learners with a comprehensive understanding of waste segregation and correct healthcare waste disposal within a healthcare environment.
Objectives (for learners to be conversant with):
- Healthcare waste legislation
- Non-Clinical waste streams within the trust
- Identification of healthcare waste streams and correct disposal route
- Sharpsmart's 5 Moments of Sharps Disposal
- Sustainable Waste Disposal
- How incorrect disposal can have an influence on environmental pollution, waste disposal costs, safety and can ultimately lead to fines.
