Osteoarthritis training for pharmacists
These modules will provide high quality training for implementing best practice consultations and support for Osteoarthritis.
Course format and aims:
This training programme will equip Pharmacists and pharmacy staff to support the implementation of the NICE guidelines on core treatments for Osteoarthritis, including:
- A clear understanding of Osteoarthritis
- Exploring patients’ health beliefs and the impact of Osteoarthritis on a patient’s life
- Giving patients a clear explanation of Osteoarthritis
- Advising on pain relief, exercise and weight management and providing good written information and other resources
- Supporting self-management through goal-setting and review
