NHSE TEL Support: Diabetic Foot Screening
An introduction to the assessment and management of the diabetic foot, with a focus on recognising a “Foot Attack” and when and how to make an urgent referral to specialist diabetic foot services.
At the end of the course the learner will be able to:
- Identify the theory behind each part of a diabetic foot screening
- Ability to classify the risk of diabetic foot ulceration in accordance with N.I.C.E clinical guideline 10 for type 2 diabetes
- Practice the diabetic foot screening on virtual patients
- Understand the correct referral pathway for each risk classification
