NHSE TEL Support: Clinical Skills Online - Cannulation Training
This online training course has been developed with an intention of supporting healthcare professionals in the development of their clinical skills.
Note: User must complete Cannulation practical training prior to any attempt to draw blood specimens. This online training course can be used as a support for the practical training session and not a substitute for required Cannulation practical training session.
By completing the module it is expected that delegates will be able to:
- Understand the legal and policy requirements
- Establish a baseline knowledge of the relevant anatomy & physiology
- Identify the contraindications for cannulation
- Increase the awareness of infection control measures
- Know the procedure for cannulation
- Be aware of possible complications
