Guide to Practice-Based Learning (PBL) for Neurodivergent Students - transferable content for Preceptorship
The purpose of this guide is to increase the awareness of neurodivergence in healthcare education, share experiences from neurodivergent students and suggest methods for students and clinical tutors or practical educators to support the neurodivergent student population within practice-based learning. There are many types of neurodivergence commonly discussed within the neurodivergence paradigm and this is continuing to evolve. However, this guide will focus on the challenges presented by the following conditions: autism, ADHD, dyscalculia, dyslexia and dyspraxia.
This guide is transferable to Pre-Preceptorship and preceptorship support and can be used to support programmes in organisations.
