270 Zero Suicide Alliance

In 2016 the World Health Organisation estimated that 800,000 people died by suicide. 6000 were in the UK.

This training has been developed as part of the National Zero Suicide Strategy.

This course has been designed by the Zero Suicide Alliance and Merseycare NHS Trust to provide clinicians and non-clinicians to provide them with:-
• Information to help them recognise when someone may be at risk of suicide
• Increased confidence and skills to be able to approach the person and ask the individual if they are having thoughts of suicide
• To help them form a plan with the individual to keep them safe for now

The training does include:-
• Statistics related to suicide
• Videos of Survivors of attempted suicide talking about their own experience
• Videos of those Bereaved by suicide talking about their own experience
