Not yet rated

At the beginning of March 2023, following a tender process, The Primary Care School, NHS England Workforce, training and Education (NHSE WT&E) and National AHP Preceptorship & Foundation Support programme awarded Lincolnshire Training Hub (LTH), to conduct a scoping exercise, looking at the transition of Allied Health Professionals into the general practice workforce across the Midlands. The scoping would enable an understanding of clinician readiness, capacity, and capability for supporting the variety of AHP roles developing a better understanding of how the roles support Primary Care, and the patient population focussing on:

Experience to date of transition into primary care

• A gap analysis of how roles are being supported/inducted into primary care.

• Support in place for FCP

• The need for preceptorship The development of networks to support AHPs and reduce isolation and vulnerability of their roles.

NHSE WT&E made clear that information gathered through this scoping exercise would support and inform the following years direction to support AHPs and other learners in primary care. LTH agreed to conduct this work across all 11 Midlands Training Hubs.
