Supporting minority ethnic student nurses at university and in practice
To address the attainment gap between minority ethnic and White students in undergraduate education, Medway NHS Foundation Trust and Canterbury Christ Church University trialled a project in which they held weekly student events to discuss race and explore ways to improve student experience. The project revealed that a minority ethnic student network and minority ethnic role models are needed, and the events have now been embedded into yearly student session planning.
