Supporting Students on Clinical Placements - Proficiency Document for Support Workers

Not yet rated

Support workers are an integral part of the NHS, supporting registered staff, working within their own scope of practice, and delivering excellent patient care. It is acknowledged support workers/assistants provide valuable knowledge, skills, and expertise in a variety of NHS roles and are already supporting registered staff with students on practical placements. With the correct training and competency assessment, support workers can be recognised and developed within their roles by the support they already offer to students being acknowledged through competency. This can be recognised as role development and continued professional development (CPD).
