STAR TECHNIQUE AT INTERVIEW

A good way to structure your answers to interview questions is to use the STAR technique. This method enables you to describe your example/ story with you at the centre of the narrative and evidences the impact your leadership has made – essential information for appointing panels. STAR is an acronym for Situation, Task, Action, Result. Your answer should describe the situation you were in, the task you had to perform to meet the challenge or answer the problem, what you actually did and then finally what you achieved. Below is an example that demonstrate how it works. Use this to inspire you to consider what STAR answers you would give in interviews
