Free online training - the STarT Back approach (Stratified care for lower back pain)
The STarT Back training team at the School of Medicine, Keele University have run training courses for several years. There are two elements to becoming proficient in the STarT Back approach: background theory behind the concept of targeting and screening treatment, and ongoing reflective learning based in the healthcare workplace of each individual clinician.
It is important to realise that becoming proficient in the STarTBack Approach involves a number of steps:
1- Learning needs assessment – shape education to the needs of the individual
2- Educational materials – knowledge that underpins the SB approach
3- Peer-based support groups – moving from knowledge to practice
4- Mentorship – supporting clinicians as they develop
5- Reflection – feedback and response to areas that might be improved
Please note:
The training comprises of two elements. The first element- online training course- is a prerequisite to the second element- StartBack Training which takes place here at Keele University School of Medicine, Keele, UK, or via MS Teams. Following the successful completion of the online course please contact Nicola Evans for details of the upcoming face to face / virtual course viaEMAILor phone +44 (0) 1782 733868
