Medicines Optimisation Module 4: Safe Handling and Reducing Risks with Medicines
Welcome to the fourth eLearning module, Safe Handling and Reducing Risks with Medicines. This module is intended as a general and brief overview of the risks involved to patients and staff when handling medicines. It focuses on medicines safety issues, accountability and responsibility, and the importance of following procedures, legislation and national guidelines. It introduces the basic concepts of safe handling and risk management, monitoring, storage and disposal of medicines to all staff new to working with medicines.
This module offers support for learning or revision along with a variety of extra learning materials including case studies, activities, fact sheets and reflective exercises.
