What type of training is it?

• Self-directed learning - approximately 3 hrs
• Trainer-led option using Virtual Reality (VR) headset also available- please email simulation.learning@cpft.nhs.uk

Course overview:

• A two-part interactive VR360 resource offering immersive experiential learning in mental health inpatient ward setting.
• Simulates a psychosis scenario, progressing through de-escalation, physical intervention, and rapid tranquillisation.
• Includes expert panel discussions, pop-up scenes, and questions to reinforce key procedures and safety practices.

Learning outcomes:

This training will enable you:

• Understand the stages and decision-making involved in rapid tranquillisation
• Improve communication, safety, and medication selection in mental health crisis situations.
• Build confidence in responding to challenging behaviours using immersive, scenario-based learning.
