208 HIV Confident elearning
Certificate available: complete this course to be awarded a certificate
This eLearning for HIV Confident Organisations has relevance for all members of staff as anyone could come across someone living with HIV at home or work. The module is intended for anyone that would like to learn more about HIV and contribute to reducing stigmatising behaviour towards staff and patients within healthcare settings. Prior clinical training is not necessary for the training and also does not mean that the training will not be useful. The experience of people living with HIV has changed significantly since the first person was diagnosed in the UK in 1981 and therefore prior knowledge might now be out of date or influenced by incorrect negative stereotypes or media. The module takes about 25 minutes to complete and includes a series of short films featuring people living with HIV and an HIV Clinician, along with interactive knowledge building, reflective practice and quizzes. Topics covered include the history of HIV, key information and myth busting.
