Introduction to transition
Resource details
Pre-registration refers to the stage before someone becomes a fully registered Allied Health Professional (AHP) with their regulatory body (e.g., HCPC).
It typically means:
- Undergraduate or apprenticeship training: Completing an approved degree or programme.
- Clinical placements: Gaining practical experience under supervision.
- Meeting regulatory standards: Passing required competencies and assessments.
Once these steps are completed, the individual can apply for professional registration and begin practicing as a qualified AHP.
