Mouth care for people who have survived a stroke
In this step, we would like you to read the article in the download section about stroke and mouth health, prepared by our Speech and Language Therapist, Sarah.
In addition, the Stroke Association leaflet - The complete guide to swallowing problems after a stroke provides further information about swallowing problems, which many people develop as a result of having a stroke.
As there are now over a million stroke survivors in the UK and many of them require assistance with daily tasks, such as cleaning their teeth, it is important that we, as their carers, are able to confidently deliver mouth care for them.
