This module will refresh your understanding of venous thromboembolism (VTE).

It will show what is expected of you in assessing a patient's risk of getting a DVT (deep vein thrombosis) or PE (pulmonary embolism) and show you how to take measures safely to reduce that risk

It will remind you of the signs and symptoms patients might have if they develop a DVT or PE

It will highlight the indications and contraindications to using the different methods of VTE prophylaxis

If you follow these simple measures, you will help in improving patient safety and reducing the risk of your patients developing VTE.
