Course Details:

Accurate and consistent health records are vital in compiling a complete record of a patient's journey through the service and to enable continuity of care both within and between organisations. Errors and/or lack of understanding of effective record keeping will lead to compromised patient safety and a lower standard of care.

Audience: Clinical staff

Duration: 30 minutes

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe Professional, Legal and Employment responsibilities of record keeping
  • Specify the functions of record keeping
  • Employ the thirteen steps of effective record keeping in your own clinical practice
  • Locate policies, procedures and guidance relating to record keeping
