Course Details:

Audience: Clinical and Medical staff in A&E/MAU Band 5 +

Duration: 30 minutes

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain the role of acute oncology
  • Identify patients at risk of neutropenic sepsis and metastatic spinal cord compression
  • Describe the management of neutropenic sepsis and metastatic spinal cord compression
  • Identify why treatment is urgent and when to refer to acute oncology
  • Classify cancer of the unknown primary and metastatic malignancy of unknown origin
