These are tick mouthparts embedded in the skin at the site of a tick bite. The yellow refractile material the mouthparts are made of is chitin. Chitin is a polysaccharide that comprises part of the exoskeleton of arthropods including insects, arachnids (such as ticks, mites, and spiders), and crustaceans (such as crabs and shrimp).
