About Katie

Katie Pavoni is a registered Paramedic, Associate Professor and course director for the BSc in Paramedic Science, at St George's, University of London. She is also the department pastoral lead and launched the first ‘Student Paramedic Blue Light Champion' scheme in the country and is now an emergency services wellbeing lead for Mind. In her clinical work, Katie is a Mental Health Practitioner (Paramedic) for South East Coast Ambulance Service.

Katie is a member of the College of Paramedics Mental Health & Wellbeing Steering group and co-academic lead for the ‘Future Workforce Mental Health Project’ where she has co-designed a national mental health and wellbeing curriculum for pre and post registration paramedics, a national wellbeing support tool and a mental health and wellbeing education package for mentors and preceptors for early career paramedics. She is also co-wellbeing lead for Higher Education England’s Paramedic Foundation Preceptorship Programme.

About Emma

Emma Geis is a lecturer in Paramedic Science at Keele University. Emma’s background is a London based front line paramedic, she then developed into being a training officer for the London ambulance service and has since completed her PGCE and post grad certificate in mental health and is currently finishing her MSc in Medical Education. Emma now works as the Academic Lead for the College of Paramedic’s Mental Health Future Workforce project, and as the Health Education England Wellbeing Lead for the Foundation Preceptorship Programme.
