About Ben

Ben is a registered graduate paramedic and prior to his current role was the education manager for the national mental health education transformation project. Ben graduated in 2009 and has worked in a variety of clinical roles across the public, private and military sectors. He holds additional qualifications in counselling, CBT, DBT, clinical education and management of behavioural health. He is particularly passionate about education and awareness as a foundational solution to poor mental health prevention.

About Sophie

Sophie Churchill is a Masters student studying International Child Rights and Development at King's College London and is also studying a 2-year night course in Psychodynamic Counselling at Birkbeck University. She works in Student Mental Health and Wellbeing as a University Mental Health Charter Award Assessor and Student Advisor for the UK's Student Mental Health charity, Student Minds. She also works on promoting positive mental health and wellbeing in her University as one of the Student Leads for the Charter Award, a Supervisor for the Peer Health Education team of the Positive Peers (students trained to support other students), and is the first student to sit on the Student Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy Steering Committee and Operational Group. Her interest in mental health stems from her own lived experience, and lies in creating cultural change across the UK to ensure that all institutions/places of work/study become mentally healthy places where everyone can thrive.
