The Aim of this e-learning module is to provide an overview of:

  • The importance of Aseptic Technique.
  • The benefits of using the ANTT Clinical Practice Framework
  • The main underpinning principles when performing ANTT

Learning Outcomes; to understand:

  • The aim of Aseptic Practice
  • The terminology used
  • How ANTT can be applied to any invasive clinical skills procedure
  • The 3 ways in which micro-organisms can contaminate Aseptic Technique
  • The methods used to protect Key-Parts and key-Sites from contamination
  • The differences between performing Standard-ANTT and Surgical-ANTT
  • The use of Standard Precautions during ANTT
