Learning Objectives
After successfully completing this module you will:
- Be aware of factors leading to ‘Never event’ of patients being fed via a misplaced NGT despite having had a check CXR
- Know how to conduct NGT position check process
- Understand indications and procedure for requesting CXR for NGT position check, and its documentation
- Have a reliable system in place for reviewing check CXR after NGT placement
- Be familiar with common pitfalls of check CXR interpretation
