- Understand legislation associated with Safeguarding Children including the different categories of abuse
- Be able to appropriately respond to concerns relating to safeguarding children
- Domestic abuse - definition and how to report concerns
- Know who to contact and how when raising a concern
- Be clear about the level of detail required when notifying the safeguarding team and/or other agencies
- Understanding the importance of ‘Voice of the Child’
- Understanding the needs of ‘Looked after Children’ and Care Leavers
