The association of UK Dietitians: Preceptorship Framework (2020)
"The move from being a student dietitian to autonomous confident practitioner can be challenging. New graduates need support and guidance to further develop their skills and aid this transition. This preceptorship framework has been produced to support this process. Many organisations will already have a process for preceptorship in place, the contents of which relates to the specific needs of the organisation. For those that don’t this is a good opportunity to establish one, as plenty of support is available. There is evidence to show that having a preceptorship programme is valued and can improve staff recruitment and retention."
This document was produced in 2020 by the BDA, and is next due for review in 2025.
