Module 5 Transcribing Training and Assessment
The aim of this module is to equip the candidate with the necessary skills to effectively and efficiently transcribe pharmaceutical items from patients records onto the appropriate paper based documents or onto an electronic medicine management system. The module covers the following:
- Transcribe the required medications for individual patients onto the appropriate documentation
- Check trainscriptions of other staff
- Highlight discrepancies and interventions to the appropriate member of staff or team
- Recognise own limitations and refer where appropriate
- Apply self-checking and safe checking systems
Additional information
This assessed training competency module will enable appropriate staff to transcribe the required medications for individual patients onto the appropriate documentation whether using electronic or paper based systems.
