Module 1 - Overview of Organ and Tissue Donation

Within this module, you will learn how to make a referral to the organ donation services team. You will learn about patients that may be eligible for donation and what factors are considered when assessing a patient as a potential organ donor. We will also highlight and discuss why organ donation is an integral part of end of life care. You will discover common family concerns around organ donation and how these are addressed.
Additionally, this module identifies and discusses the organs that may be donated and in what circumstances this may occur, providing an overview of specific pathways for donation. We also provide an overview of tissue donation and how to refer. There are 3 modules that make up this entire programme. Please complete these modules in order. This is module 1 of 3.
