Module 2 - Donor Management

Within this module, we will discuss EOLC decisions and futility conversations that take place in the critical care/hospital environment with families. We will discuss the legislative changes in regards to organ donation and the variations in legislation across the the UK.We will discuss organ donation and the appropriate time for these discussions with families and pertinent staff that should be involved. We will provide education and information in regards to neurological death testing and steps involved in WLST in regards to DCD donation. We will also discuss the importance of donor management and the positive impact ICU staff can make in organ utilisation and transplantation.
This course aims to develop your knowledge, skills and competency within your role in the field of Organ and Tissue Donation.
There are 3 modules that make up this entire programme. Please complete these modules in order. This is Module 2 of 3.
