A simple guide to improving services (Chapters 8-11)
Before implementing a solution and changing your service, it is essential to understand your current system by mapping the process, collecting and analysing the service data, along with asking patients and staff for their views, in order to determine where improvements can be made. Don’t rush into implementing whole system changes without testing and measuring small incremental changes. Learn from experience and be prepared to be flexible as your first idea may not be the best or the right solution. This resource is not intended as a complete guide but provides a short overview with the most relevant tools and other resources signposted for further exploration.
