Course Details:

This programme is intended for staff new to the Trust and existing staff.

Learning Objectives:

• Demonstrate ability to undertake medicine calculations
• Obtaining medicines – during & out of hours
• Have an awareness of the Trust policies in relation to medicines, and explore their impact on practice
• Identify factors to consider prior to, during and following any medicine administration
• Be aware of security and storage issues
• Demonstrate/review documentation of omitted/delayed medicines on the medicine authorisation
• Examine reasons for medicine errors and be aware of the action to be taken in the event of one
